Fender Rhodes Damper Felts:
The reason and need to change piano damper felts is one of necessity not choice. Due to age the damper felts break down and weaken. They flop over and become structurally incompetent at doing their job. Case in point is a note that does not dampen properly even after damper arm adjustment has been made.
Again, to see how old and malformed your felts really are just lift the harp and take a look as well as feel the felt and you will see they do not feel fresh. A proper good felt should stand up with semi rigidness on it's own. it should be able to absorb the swing of a large tine in motion.
Our custom made damper felts are made by our own manufacturer for the sole purpose of the Vintage Fender Rhodes piano as well as our new Vintage Vibe Tine Piano. We have been making felts for years and this latest achievement in felt making is our highest level yet. There are 4 different sections to compass the entire piano.
