Wurlitzer electric piano Damper grommets:
These grommets go around the long screw attached to the whip assembly which fits into the c clamp of the damper arm. The purpose is for smooth and quiet operation of Whipp assembly/damper interaction.
What happens is the old grommets become loose,crystalized, hardened and start making noise as well as inhibit smooth operation. They actually stretch and the screw starts to bobble inside the old grommet.
The new grommets installed will actually quiet down, help smooth the action and also make the action feel less sloppy due to tighter hole.
