All pianos employ a Back Check System, so in essence this kit is nothing new. Rhodes chose to ignore the bouncing hammers and bouncing dampers that cause improper balance and articulation in their piano. So technicians for years have been employing their own versions of back checks to cure these issues. Most of the time they install conventional acoustic piano back checks which is costly and time consuming.
We have designed this Back Check system for it's cost effectivness as well as it's ability and ease of use. When installed properly it relieves the symptoms caused by bouncy hammers and dampers.
Symptoms such as:
Noisy action
Double Striking hammers
Notes being cancelled by bobbing dampers
Notes that misfire due to hammers bobbling on a rested pedestal and not readyor aligned for the next fast repetative strike
Notes that do not dampen on a dime and properly and cause an after tone or ring out.
These are all common symptoms of Rhodes pianos due to the inherent condition from weak dampers and no back check system.
Easy to install, anyone with hands can install this kit.
Comes with all back checks, screws and felts. You glue the felts on yourself.
