Rhodes Electric Piano Octave Damper Strip with Modification::  

 

On the later Rhodes Piano Model Mk. 5, Rhodes put a bend in the damper to strengthen the aluminum, they learned thru the years that the old dampers tend to fatique and become ineffective. This crude modification definitely strengthens the damper. Some adjusting will be needed once installation is complete. With this mod the damper becomes about 10 times as rigid without comprimising the feel of the action.
