Vintage Vibe has developed so many modifications out of necessity and out of intellectual problem solving from working day in and day out year after year on the vintage electric pianos. Some of our modifications are done on repairs/restorations and some are common ones we sell on our website. Some we have picked up from other tech friends but most out of scratching our heads. All of Vintage Vibe's modifications are always used in the right context to give our customers the best technology we can offer at the time.

Our felts are custom made and cut in our shop and installed individually on your piano.

Key Restoration (Leveling, Key Dip, Easing, Tightening, Key Pin Alignment) $200
This is a necessary procedure in the feel and look of your action.

Damper Arm Modification (will strengthen flimsy dampers) $185
Old Fender Rhodes dampers have been fatigued with use and time and our mod will strengthen them to ensure proper dampening.

Damper Rail Inspection (Re-felt, lube and modify) $50
Damper rails become noisy and stiff. New felts and lubrication will make them quiet like new.

Custom Hammer Tip Installation $150
Hammer tips become hard and grooved and loose the original tone. We install our custom hammer tips and listen for proper split points for installation.

Proper Escapement and Strike Line set up $150
This is paramount to the set up of how your piano will ultimately play and sound.

Tine, Tone Bar Alignment and Squaring Tine Ends $150
This is a necessary procedure for tone and sustain.

Tuning, Voicing w/ Sustain Enhancement $250 plus parts
This is the overall icing on the cake for the fine adjustments of tone, volume and sustain.

Original Tine Replacement price per tine
We listen for improper tone, oscillation and sustain and make judgments.

Vintage Vibe Top Chop Mod $275
This is a modification used in the 1970’s to offer a flat top to stack extra keyboards on top of your piano.

Customized Effects Implementation
We offer a variety of different effects which we can implement into your piano.

Tone Bar Re-Plating $185
This is a service we offer for the cosmetically conscious consumer.

Modifies lid to swing open only to reveal keys, leaving the rest of the case available to hold other key boards. Examples: 1 2

Tuning, Voicing $250 + parts
The art of tuning and voicing is something that takes years of experience to perfect. No one can tune and voice your piano better than Vintage Vibe.

Action Dismantled, Inspected, Shrunk and Lubricated $350.00
- Capstan Buffing (for less friction on action) +$25
- Whip Assembly Action Rebuild (new springs, felts, shrink and lube) +$175
This is a special repair and refurbish technique that only truly qualified technicians can accomplish. We have years of experience and know how to fix any action problem.

200 Reed Bar Shields (to eliminate hum) $175
This modification will silence your noisy reed bar where your normal hum shield doesn’t do the job. Most noise comes from the reed bar.

Grommet Replacement $75
The use of new grommets in conjunction with your whip assembly and dampers will tighten up the feel and quiet the action.

Damper Flange Replacement $5 per damper
Damper flanges are responsible for the way the action feels and the way the dampers respond. Worn flange springs will require replacement.

Hammer Re-Shaping $150
Old hammers become grooved and worn down effecting tone and playability. We remove the action and re shape all hammers and then re set the let off action.

Regulation (lost motion, let off, dampers) $100 - $150
This procedure is the ultimate in determining the way the piano feels and responds to touch. This is something that is a must on all pianos.

AC Hum Remedy (Led Mod, AC Mod) $100
Great modification to quiet down 60 cycle hum in your audio path.

Amplifier Rebuild $350
All 200 amplifiers absolutely need to be rebuilt. This is something that we are highly educated in and can quiet the worst amps in the world.

Custom Speaker Install
We offer new custom speakers for every model piano.

Fuse Modification $40
200 and 200A fuse modifications for fast replacement of old, hard to get blown fuses. Our modification makes changing any blown fuses a snap.

Strike Line Adjustment $20 per note
For the optimal tone and bringing out the best in the worst sounding reeds particularly in the treble section of the piano where it tends to be quiet and dull.

Custom Key Cap Replacement $375
Makes your keys look and feel brand new.

Wurlitzer Preventive Cleaning [what is underneath your keys] $95
Vacuuming out the key bed, under the keys and action to remove dust and whatever else has accumulated over the years to make sure amp and reed bar are quiet.
