Rhodes 1980 Mark II Stage Piano Professional Series Restoration$4,999.99
About Professional Series
Each Professional Series Piano starts with a vintage instrument that is hand-selected to provide a solid foundation for restoration. The piano is then completely disassembled and every component is thoroughly inspected, evaluated, reconditioned or replaced. Consumable parts suffering the effects of age are replaced with new parts that meet or exceed original specifications.
The piano is then set up by our master technicians - tuning and voicing, as well as a complete action regulation are all performed to the highest standards.
The result is a highly articulate vintage piano with an even compass and dynamic response - without the added expense of museum-quality restoration.
About this piano-
1980 MK2 Rhodes Stage (from Fred’s personal collection)
This piano was completely disassembled, and rebuilt from the ground up with all consumables replaced (new pedestal felts, hammer tips, damper felts, screws and grommets, and name rail felt).
The action features complete regulation for even feel and response across the compass.
New tolex was applied about 1 year ago - aside from a couple very minor scuffs, the piano displays beautifully with all new hardware, new legs, and new sustain pedal. The re-tolexed travel lid also includes new hardware.
All late model “white tape” pickups were removed and replaced with our own Vintage Vibe pickups - custom developed to maintain original tonal characteristics, with considerably reduced microphonics.
No expense was spared in voicing this MkII - tines were replaced as needed to provide long sustain and “matched” dynamic performance across the compass.
This is truly the best Mk II available. With the desirable wood keybed, proper setup and all new pickups, it is ready to embark on its next 40 years of life - Offering late model styling with all the reliability we expect out of our premium restorations.
