Great tone starts with a great tone generator. Hammer tips and reeds are at the heart of great Wurlitzer tone. Grooves worn into the tips will suck the tone right out; this is especially so in the middle and treble sections. If your hammer tips are worn, which can be common in older and un-restored pianos, do what the professionals do: replace them and see what a difference it makes.
