Clavinet Clavigel Kit
You want the fresh tone of new strings, but yarning new strings? No way, right? We have a fast easy solution!!
Weaving yarn has always been a major annoyance and a great reason not to change strings. You may as well knit a sweater with grandma cause that's how long it seems to take, just to lay the yarn, not to mention the many adjustments you'll need to make to get it right.
Through the mother of all invention, laziness, Vintage Vibe has revolutionized Clavinet string dampening by creating a faster and simpler method. The Clavigel dampening system utilizes polymer gel strips, that after an easy and quick installation, ensures fast and tight dampening evenly across the Clavinet.
The polymer used to manufacture Clavigel strips has a lifetime warranty against defect or deterioration. The Clavigel will out live you and your Clavinet. The Clavigel can withstand temperatures from 600°F to -160°F and is completely unaffected by ultraviolet light or ozone as well as solvents, acids, chemicals, oils, and water. The polymer is flame retardant and non-toxic and mice will not use it for bedding!!
Estimated Installation time: Approximately two hours to completely restring a Clavinet and install the Clavigel strips. Compare that to restringing with yarn; it's a no-brainer!
We believe in this system so strongly that we are backing it with a 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back.

**Please note this video was created when Clavigel was first created. We now supply all kits with magnets instead of clips or ribbon.**
I am unsure about using Clavigel. I mean, the yarn has been around forever...
Why should you try it? Dial up telephone service has been around forever as well, but would you want to run your computer on it? Seriously. The reason you should try it is, that it provides superior dampening to yarn and can be installed in a fraction of the time. We use it exclusively in all Clavinet restrings and Vibanet builds and at this point, there are hundreds of kits out there, many on world tours.
What is it made out of?
Clavigel is a proprietary mixture of polymers. We spent 6 months developing the correct viscosity for our unique application. There is no known degradation point; meaning that in laboratory testing it has never broken down under UV or extreme temperatures and is chemical resistant. We guarantee it for life. And as an added bonus, there won't be any moths or mice nesting in Clavigel like are sometimes found in yarn.
